Anuja Baniya from Itahari claimed that she found 91 lakh rupees and a diamond necklace on a public bus which she returned to the owner of the property, named Purushotam Pokhrel who is yet not identified. Anuja’s statements lack truth which gives birth to various questions. Some contrasting facts are:-

- Huge sum of 91 Lakh rupees being taken on a public Bus. Oh my god! Was there no cab available? Also, 91 Lakh rupees deserve security. But the owner didn’t ask for it. Amazing!!
- The owner forgot to take his money while getting off from the bus. If it was anyone else, he/she would probably hold the bag tight fearing of missing the bag or being robbed.
- It is being reported that the money was being taken on a bag. How such huge sum of money fits on a single bag. And yes, if the bag was real large, the owner would not have forgotten it and also Anuja could not have carried it home. But, Anuja explained that she carried it easily to her home. Are 91 bundles of notes so light to carry?
- According to Anuja, she opened the bag next morning. Who in this greedy earth can wait a whole night to see what is there inside such heavy bag. Well, how brave Anuja is -She didn’t even feared if the bag was filled with some explosion material.
- Another interesting fact is that the owner didn’t even report to the police after losing such huge sum of money. This proves that, if the owner really exists, his money may not have a legal source that disabled him to report to the police.
- Anuja claimed that she called the owner of the money and handed him back. The question can be raised- how did she find the number of the owner? Also, how can she be sure that the money who she gave is a real owner and not some fraud?
- If Anuja had really called the owner, the telephone service provider should already have had traced the number of the owner with the help of time and the number Anuja called the owner.
- Anuja had reported that after handing the money, the owner gave 2 Lakh rupees and the diamond necklace to her as reward. But she refused to take it. How could anyone refuse such huge reward?
- It is being reported that the owner had withdrawn the money from IME, Itahari. But IME claims that such huge sum of money had not been withdrawn on the particular day.
- Anuja’s brother Kumar Bania reported that he is not sure if Anuja had really found the money. According to him, his son was at the home, but even he was not aware of Anuja bringing such big sum of money.
All these reasons prove that the story is a fake one. There could be various reasons for spreading such fake news. May be Anuja’s hunger for being a public figure, made her make this story.
Agreed! Also, had Anuja been so honest, why would she just pick a random bag and take it to her home? Why didn't she directly give it to police or any bus personnel?
